みかんの花は5月が見頃のようです。
花よりデザートな気分に、アイス・ジェラートなどなど。果実を凍らせてミキサーでジュースに、なんていうのも美味しいですよね。

清見の旬は、春。早ければ2月ごろから始まっています。
私が多く見かけるのは、ゴールデンウイーク前後な気がします。袋入りの特売が目に付くからでしょうか。

清見の基礎知識～知らなかったので調べました

 清見は、静岡県で産まれました。日本のミカンと、西洋オレンジの交配種。
日本で初めての「オレンジかけあわせ」と言われています。
そういえば「清見みかん」や「清見オレンジ」って言いますね、ついつい清見と呼んでしまいますが。
静岡県静岡市清水区の清見寺と近くの海岸・清見潟にちなんで名づけられています。
交配・かけあわせは、農林水産省の果樹試験場で行われました。
現在は、農研機構・果樹研究所になっています。
Kiyomi was born in Shizuoka prefecture. A hybrid of Japanese oranges and western oranges.
It is said to be the first "orange crossing" in Japan.
Speaking of which, they say "Kiyomi oranges" or "Kiyomi oranges", but I just call them Kiyomi.

みかんの花言葉は、ちょっと知らなかったので調べてみました。
すると、
みかん・オレンジ、とくに区別はしないようです。
品種の違いはあっても、花も似ています。
ちなみに、みかん系の柑橘類は、白い花が咲きます。
オレンジは？
あたりまえですが柑橘系ですね。そういえば、オレンジやネーブルの花は、きちんと認識していませんでした。
「みかんとオレンジは違う」と、どこかで認識してしまっているのが原因のようです。

つまり、青虫ごーろごろ。新しい葉が出るたびに、気づけば青虫の姿を目撃することに。
