土浦に出かけたとき、城に寄りました。
When I went to Tsuchiura, I stopped by the castle.
看板が出ていて、
「土浦市立博物館は設備の大規模改修工事のため臨時休館中です」
なるほど。
A sign is out,
"The Tsuchiura City Museum is temporarily closed due to large-scale renovation work on its facilities."
I see.
お堀の回りを歩いて駅のほうへ向かおうとしたら、
「東櫓は無料開館中」
という文字が目に入りました。
When I was about to walk around the moat and head towards the station,
"East Yagura is open for free"
I saw the word.
桜が開花する直前で、たくさんつぼみがありました。
桜は咲いていませんが、ツバキは満開。さらに柳が新緑で風に揺れています。
なにより人が少なくて、とてもゆっくりくつろげました。
櫓に入ると、すべての窓が開放されていて、風が吹き抜けています。寒いくらいです。
木造建築ならではの空気感が心地良くて、立ちっぱなしだったけどくつろげます。
Just before the cherry blossoms bloomed, there were many buds.
The cherry blossoms are not blooming, but the camellias are in full bloom. In addition, the willows are fresh green and swaying in the wind.
Above all, there were few people, and it was very relaxing.
When you enter the yagura, all the windows are open and the wind blows through. It's cold.
The wooden building has a comfortable atmosphere, and although I was standing all the time, I could relax.
臨時改修工事は令和6年1月頃まで続くようで、かなり長いです。
それまでの期間は櫓を無料開館するようですが、もともと土浦市立博物館の入館料が105円だったと思うので、お得感というほどでもありません。
木造建築の櫓だし、無料開館中とはいえメンテナンスは必要でしょう。
城の櫓のメンテナンス代としての募金箱が設置されていたら、迷わず100円を入れますけど、そういう設置物は見当たりませんでした。
代わりに、というのもへんですが、近くで営業しているお店で買い物をしました。地元に経済の潤いを、という感覚です。
It seems that the temporary renovation work will continue until around January 2021, which is quite a long time.
It seems that the turret will be open for free until then, but I think the entrance fee for the Tsuchiura City Museum was originally 105 yen, so it's not a great deal.
It's a wooden building, and even though it's open for free, it needs maintenance.
If there was a donation box set up for maintenance of the castle turret, I would put in 100 yen without hesitation, but I didn't see anything like that.
Instead, I didn't know what to say, but I shopped at a nearby store. It is a sense that it will enrich the local economy.
桜のシーズンではなかったので、「あともうちょいだったのに。惜しい！」という気持ちと、「だからこそ、ゆっくりできた」という感覚が入り混じってます。
子どもの頃は、すさまじく賑わっていた記憶があるので、自分の記憶そのものが嘘だったんじゃないのかって勘違いしそうになります。
とはいえ、百貨店は全滅。筑波山方面への鉄道は廃線。そうなる以前は、やはりどこか賑わっていたんじゃないのかな、と思い直しますが今となっては再確認できません。
それでもサイクリングに特化した再開発が成功しているようで、サイクリングロードは美しく整備されています。駅ビルも自転車と一緒に入れるし。筑波山も霞ケ浦も身近です。
It wasn't the season for cherry blossoms, so I had mixed feelings of "It's just a little bit more. It's a shame!"
When I was a child, I remember that it was extremely crowded, so I almost misunderstood that my memory itself was a lie.
However, the department store was wiped out. The railway to Mt.Tsukuba has been discontinued. Before that happened, I wonder if it was crowded somewhere, but I can't reconfirm it now.
Even so, the cycling-specific redevelopment seems to have been successful, and the cycling roads are beautifully maintained. I put the station building together with the bicycle. Mt.Tsukuba and Kasumigaura are also nearby.
