2014年以来５年ぶりに大阪道頓堀のグリコサインの前に行きました。あまりの訪日外国人の数に驚きました。

訪日外国人は過去最高を更新しており2019年も4月まで前年を上回って推移しているそうですが、実感しました。

訪日外国人の数は、2019年に3100万人を超えたあとに新型コロナウィルスで激減しました。2023年は2500万超まで回復しました。2024年は2023年比の7割増しで推移しているので最終的に4000万人を超えるペースで推移しております。

The number of foreign visitors to Japan exceeded 31 million in 2019, but dropped sharply due to the COVID-19 pandemic. It recovered to over 25 million in 2023. The number in 2024 is expected to increase by 70% compared to 2023, and is on track to eventually exceed 40 million.
