1987年5月にリリースされた崎谷健次郎さんのファーストアルバム収録曲。
同じ年の夏、シングルカットされてFMでかなり流れていました。
アルバム全体が夏というよりも、アルバムの中に「夏」が潜んでいる感じ。
ブラインドの隙間から海を眺めているような、真夏だけれども熱さよりも涼しさが似合う雰囲気です。
熱中症を避けるために、エアコンの効いている部屋で過ごしている感じ。
わるくない。いいです。
1987年の夏は、伊豆の海岸に出かけました。そのときは、この曲を携帯していたわけではないので、BGMになっていたわけでもなく、むしろユーロビートが全盛の感じ。でも今こうして当時の記憶をよみがえらせると、自然に景色と音楽がミックスされて、夏のポラロイドに仕上がります。伊豆の海岸は白くて広い砂丘に、どこまで歩けるのか怖いくらい遠浅の海で、なにもかもが美しく見えました。
崎谷健次郎さんは「シンガーソングライター」というよりも「サウンドクリエイター」なテイストが強い気がするのですが、さんざん音楽だけを聴いた後で『たまには歌詞を読もうかな』と歌詞カードを広げると、とてつもなく文学的な詩世界に感じられるのでした。詩の断片と、旋律が融合して、夏の蜃気楼みたいな景色を脳内スクリーンに投影してきます。なにげなく放たれる詩が、すうっと乾いたコンクリートに吸収される通り雨のよう。もちろん天気雨です。
「五線譜のメッセージ」のように、崎谷健次郎さんが作詞作曲している作品も素晴らしいのですが、崎谷さん以外の人が作詞している作品も、しっかりとサキヤワールドしています。自然に景色と音楽がミックスされるように、自分の言葉も誰かの言葉も融合しています。まざりあう洗練です。
ギターのカッティングは、派手ではないので、夏の原色感は弱め。むしろ、夏にモノトーンだからこそ大人びて素敵に見える、そんな洗練さ加減です。
今年も夏が巡り巡ってきますよね。『だから何？』と言われてしまえば言葉もなく笑い返すしかない、でもそれでいいのです。いいものは、いい。そんなシンプルな感情だからこその、熱いエネルギー。穏やかで激しい「夏のポラロイド」です。
聞けば聞くほど、聴いている自分が洗練されていくような錯覚に陥ってしまいます。
崎谷健次郎さんが洗練させる詩世界は、もうすでに最初の夏から完成していたのです。
涼しくて暑くて情熱的で理性的で感情がほとばしりつつ、リラックス。夏を思い浮かべるときに「夏のポラロイド」をどうぞ。

The coast of Izu was a white and wide sand dune, and the sea was so shallow that I was scared of how far I could walk, and everything looked beautiful.
Kenjiro Sakiya seems to have a stronger taste of "sound creator" than "singer-songwriter", but after listening to only Sanzan music, when he spread the lyrics card saying "I wonder if I should read the lyrics once in a while", It felt like a literary poetry world. Fragments of poetry and tunes are fused to project a summer sword-like landscape on the screen in the brain. The poetry that is released casually is like rain as it is absorbed by the dry concrete. Of course it is raining.
Works written and composed by Kenjiro Sakiya, such as "Gosenfuno Message," are wonderful, but works written by people other than Mr. Sakiya are also firmly in Sakiya World. My words and someone's words are fused so that the scenery and music are naturally mixed. It's a sophisticated mix.
The guitar cutting is not flashy, so the primary colors of summer are weakened. Rather, it is such a sophistication that it looks nice as an adult because it is monotone in the summer.
Summer will come around this year as well. "So what? If you are told, you have no choice but to laugh back without words, but that's fine. Good things are good. Hot energy because of such simple emotions. It is a calm and intense "Natsu no Polaroid".
