かつて、霞ヶ浦が、いまよりもっともっと「海と繋がっていた」時代には、
さまざまな場所にお城がありました。
戦国時代。
ただし、土塁のお城。関東地方らしさたっぷりのお城。
かすみがうら市歴史博物館！
「かすみがうら市歴史博物館」は、
1987年に建てられました。
石垣が立派。
というより、土塁でないからこそ、
『本物じゃないね......』という。
土塁と空堀なら、関東らしいお城。
関東らしくないからこそ、
関東らしい「似非お城」の雰囲気が仕上がっております。
地元では「出島城」と呼ばれてきましたが、
ご存知ない方も少なくありません。
個人的に私は好きなんですけどね。
エリア的に「土浦城」の近くといいたいところですが、なかなか距離があります。
土浦城が湖畔に浮かぶ亀城なら、
「出島城」は湖畔の丘に建つ、忍びのお城という雰囲気。

『城が好き』
『茨城には、城ないの？』
『土浦城？』
などという会話を交わしたことのある友人や知人を連れて行くと、
「お！？」
と反応してもらえます。
しかも、いい感じな反応です。

常総市の立派過ぎる「豊田城」と比べると、
こちら「出島城」のほうが、
「本物のお城っぽい！」
と反応してもらえました。
実際に中に入ると、
博物館・資料館ですが、
なかなか城としての空間設計がされています。
組み合わせ的に「大手門」と「天守閣」という雰囲気でしょうか？
ちょっと得意げに話すと、
「まあ、櫓としては立派な感じ？」
という反応でしたが。

もちろん、霞ヶ浦を展望できます！
見渡せますよ♬
常総市の豊田城もイベントが盛んですが、
こちら出島城でも、ときどき。

個人的には、こちら出島城＝かすみがうら市歴史博物館は、
コスプレを楽しむ場所に最適です。
湖の風を感じられて、なおかつ周辺は原生林を思わせる林も残されていますので。
時空を超えた設定での、ひとときを満喫できますよ。
ライトアップに遭遇できれば、レアかもしれません。

すぐ近くを、りんりんロード。
サイクリングがてら立ち寄られては、いかがでしょう。
しかし、自転車に乗っていても、お城の姿は見つけられません。
見えてもおかしくない絶好の位置なのですが。
りんりんロード沿いにある水族館を目印にするしかありません。
森のどこかに忍んでおります。
お城を見つけるのは簡単ではありませんが、
お城からの眺めは絶景です。

アクセスは、超・不便！

地元の人たちがドライブがてら連れて行くぶんには、
とてもスムーズでわかりやすいのですが、
観光目的で初めて訪問される人に対しては、
容赦なくアクセス不便。
行き方がわかりにくいどころか、
交通手段がありません。
最寄バス停から1km以上あります。
情け容赦、皆無！
いったい、いつの時代だよというくらいに、
取り残されている感たっぷりです。
なので、ぜひ。
孤高の存在、
まさに忍びなる存在をお楽しみください。
