ひたち海浜公園のネモフィラは、秋に種蒔きされたものです。見頃を過ぎても初夏の雰囲気が颯爽と感じられるエリアです。

コキアは種から育てられる植物です。
しかし「みはらしの丘」では、苗が植えられます。
もう樹形が安定している状態の苗が植えられるので、
まんまるい感じでズラーっと並び、壮観です。
「みはらしの丘」に植えられるコキアは、市販品のコキアとは別品種、ひたち海浜公園のために品種改良されたものだと聞いたことがあります。
夏、いちめんコキア。
