UR都市機構が拠点にしていたビルです。
UR都市機構は、「ひたち野うしく」を開発してきました。

ひたち野うしく駅が開業したのは、1998年春のこと。
かつて「つくば科学万博」が開催されていたときの「万博中央駅」の跡地に新設された駅です。

牛久駅と荒川沖駅の、ほぼ中間地点。
常磐線の車窓からの眺めは、広々としていたのを、うっすらと覚えています。

This building was based on the UR Urban Organization. The UR Urban Organization has developed "Hitachi no Ushiku". Hitachino Ushiku Station opened in the spring of 1998. This station was newly established on the site of the "Expo Central Station" when the "Tsukuba Science Expo" was once held. Almost halfway between Ushiku Station and Arakawaoki Station. I slightly remember that the view from the Joban Line car window was spacious.

ひたち野リフレは、ビルの外壁全面が、青空を映しこむデザインです。
その日の天気によっては、白い雲が多くなり、まるで白亜のマンションのようにも見えました。
空の青さを映しこむのは外側です。
では、内側は？

リフレの建物内部は、とても明るい空間です。
自然な採光で、狭苦しさを感じません。
さらには、外の景色、とりわけ空の青さが「碧く」見えるのです。
まさしく「碧空」を見渡せます。
緑色が強調されたような色味が、いつも新鮮に感じられました。

Hitachinohigashi is a design that reflects the blue sky on the entire outer wall of the building. Depending on the weather of the day, there were many white clouds and it looked like a chalky mansion. It is the outside that reflects the blue of the sky. So what's inside? The interior of the Refre building is a very bright space. With natural lighting, you don't feel cramped. What's more, the outside scenery, especially the blue of the sky, looks "blue". You can see exactly "Aozora". The color that emphasized green always felt fresh.

私がリフレを訪問するようになったのは、ひたち野うしく郵便局が開局されたころです。開局は、2011年 6月。
ひたち野うしく駅前にバスで到着すると、すぐ、そこにあるのがリフレ。しかも郵便局もできました。とても便利です。

駅前郵便局でも駅前にあるとは限らない？

常磐線の沿線は、意外と駅から郵便局が遠かったりします。

取手駅は駅ビルに郵便局がありますが、土浦駅前郵便局や牛久駅西口郵便局は、名前が「駅の前」っぽいのに、そこそこ歩かないと到着しません。

佐貫駅前郵便局は駅前ロータリーに近いのですが、ちょっと隠れ家っぽい雰囲気です。

水戸駅前郵便局も駅前というより、ちょっと離れている印象で、しかも廃止されてしまいました。

ひたち野うしく郵便局は、名前こそ「駅前郵便局」ではありませんが、バス停の前で、しかも駅にはリフレから直結。とても便利です。

雨模様は別世界

雨の日の、リフレ。

どんよりした曇り空を映しこみますが、どんより感は薄いです。ビルの佇まいが、どこか清々しいからかもしれません。
天候不明な別世界のように映ります。ちょっとゲーム世界っぽい感じ。どこからどう見ても現実の世界なのですが、仮想空間っぽさがあるんですよね。そこが個人的に好きなポイント。

ひたち野うしく駅、バス停、リフレ、傘をささずに移動できます。

Refre on a rainy day. It reflects a cloudy sky, but the feeling is less than that. It may be because the appearance of the building is refreshing. It looks like another world where the weather is unknown. It feels a bit like a game world. It's a real world no matter how you look at it, but it looks like a virtual space. That is my personal favorite point. You can move without using Hitachinohigashi Station, bus stop, refre, or umbrella.

牛久大仏へのバスルートは牛久駅のほう！
The bus route to Ushiku Buddha is at Ushiku Station!

ひたち野うしくの「ちょっと高い場所」からは、牛久大仏が見えます。でも牛久大仏へのバスルートは、ひたち野うしく駅からは出ていません。将来的には整備されるかもしれませんが。牛久大仏へのバスは牛久駅東口です。

You can see the Buddha of Ushiku from "a little high place" in Hitachinohigashi. However, the bus route to Ushiku Buddha does not leave from Hitachinohigashi Station. It may be improved in the future. The bus to Ushiku Buddha is at the east exit of Ushiku Station.
